Mr. Smart is CEO of Actym Therapeutics. Mr. Smart has extensive biopharmaceutical board experience having previously served on multiple boards and advisory committees of other life sciences companies, industry organizations, and academic entities. Previously, Mr. Smart served as CEO & Board Chair of AnaptysBio (ANAB), Chief Business Officer of XOMA (XOMA), and held various positions at Genetics Institute (now Pfizer), GenVec (now Precigen), Searle (now Pfizer), and Cell Genesys. Mr. Smart is experienced in building and funding the transition of biopharma companies from research to clinical-stage, including privately held to publicly-traded firms. Mr. Smart holds a BS from Cornell University and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
